The 36th session of the Human Rights Council (HRC) is scheduled to take place from 11-29 September 2017, during which the Working Group (WG) Reports from the 27th session of the UPR will be adopted.

The UK will appear before the UN Human Rights Council on the 22 Sept to confirm which of the 227 recommendations from the UPR examination it will be accepting or noting. The government has not yet released this information.

Joint Shadow Report‘s primary recommendations to the UK highlight safeguarding domestic protections and showing human rights leadership and the need for an effective implementation and monitoring plan, which includes better and ongoing engagement with civil society.
