The summer school addresses trends and dynamics of migration and their interaction with society after settlement, from both a scientific and policy perspective. Speakers from various academic disciplines will offer insights in migration and integration processes. Next to academic state-of-the art insights, different policy perspectives will be presented. This allows participants to gain an in-depth understanding of the complexity of migration and its consequences for society.
We will mainly focus on the European settlement context. Policy considerations and societal involvement in the Netherlands will serve as an example to demonstrate the interplay between migration and society.
The summer school programme is highly interactive and includes distinguished speakers from academia, government, and NGOs. Side visits to relevant organisations in the field are part of the programme. Moreover, participants will work in groups on designing policies and interventions aimed at solving problems related to migration and integration.
